Managing Leave Requests
Leave Requests are the primary way for Employees to request time off. Managers and Admins can view, approve or reject Leave Requests, while Employees can create (as well as cancel) their own Leave Requests.
Creating a Leave Request
To create a Leave Request, select the Leave Requests
tab in the sidebar and hit the New Leave Request
button.
The essential details you need to fill in are:
- Employee (only if you are a Manager or Admin)
- Type of Leave (e.g. Annual Leave, Adoption Leave, etc.)
- Start and End Date
- Start and End Time (useful if you're booking in hours)
- Notes (optional)
After filling in the details, press the Save
button to create the Leave Request. The Manager for that employee will
receive a notification and can then approve or reject the request. After the Manager has taken action, the Employee will
be notified of the outcome.
Tracking Leave Requests
You can view all Leave Requests in the Leave Logs
tab. Here you can see the status of each request, the Employee who
requested it, the type of Leave, the start and end date along with any additional notes. If you have an active Leave
Request, you can cancel it by clicking the Cancel
button.
All active Leave Requests can be viewed in the Calendar. This is useful for seeing who is off on a given day and planning accordingly.
Attaching Documents
If you need to attach a document to a Leave Request, you can do so by clicking the View
button and heading into the
Attachments
tab. Here you can upload any relevant documents, such as a doctor's note or a booking confirmation. If you
are a Manager or Admin, you will need to approve or reject the attachment before it is officially attached to the Leave
Request. From there, you can download the attachment or delete it if necessary.
